Showing Off My Dreads

The hero has a band of companions, a group, people who will definatly help the hero to achive his goal. Here I'd just like to go and tell these certian people who they are and why I love them! First off I'm going to start with my new friends the first one being Kelsey! Hey girl, hey! That pen you had was really cool, and the first time you heard me speak you were all like "What a nerd." And now we're all like speaking in deferant accentes. I love it! Why are we so weird, and I know it makes you mad when I call just you weird, when I'm clearly the freak here. So I'll cut that out for you homie, we have to have classes next year, and we'll party it up! Laurennn G. M. What's up broski? If we don't have classes then we'll have to text all of the time twenty four seven, no doubt. Marker Albus (Mark Alba) do you really use your hair as a napkin? Werid-o. Just kidding jay kay, jay kay. No cash bro I saw that signal, also stop throwing hardcore floders at me! That's just painful, I know he's your man Jessica don't worry I'm not all up on that. Luke Swart, hey dude what can I say, your awesome and funny. Keep it up, and stop threatening to shoot people. Dhoom is my favorite movie, you know that. And you make fun of me for it. Oh well, Edward Tome, Best friends since like what? Second grade? Definatly, let's stay in touch brother! Glad we could get back to being close again, do you have to take all of your exams? I hope so. Brianna, you're so sweet and a slow card player. Jeez, hurry up, I promise I won't keep calling BS next game! You're so much fun in theatre, and I'll miss you! We better have classes together next year. Candice Allen, see I didn't forget you! You don't know me that well, but I feel like we're close, because of how sweet you are! I see no reason why we can't be close. And don'y worry I can't replace you, I'm way too weird to fill your shoes. (And you're tall).
Morgan Finley! You're definatly a great friend, who else will sneak out of orchestra with me, (not Mr. Engle that's for sure) and even though I don't know my way to Mrs. Vaughn's class I think that most of it is because I just don't pay attention. You're like my brain dude.

The hero's R.O.P.

R-ight.

O-f.

P-assage.

Or ROP if you will, the thing that allows you to become the hero. Weither it be training or, saving a life, or maybe just being born. They were chosen to be the hero of the story before birth. This 'right of passage' is different for many people; for some it's saving their daughter. Or stopping theives. Whatever it may be it happens; and it starts off the whole story. Giving the protagonist his purpose, and setting up for the climax, all from the ROP. For Despereaux it was being brave that dove him into the rat's nest. A simple characteristic of the little mouse was his right of passage, and there are many more heros who also have a ROP. I think that mine came to me when I was young. My sisters and parents shapped me into the person I am today, and their efforts and my respons to that was my right of passage. It was my entrance into this world as a 'hero'. As the hero who will be her own down fall. This ROP wasn't really done by me, but I had many things to prove to my family, and I overcame them. (Almost all of them). And I strongly believe that, that was my right of passage; and I happened to somehow pass it. It might not be with flying colors, but at least I'm able to be a hero and not a villian.

I Hope You Don't Mind

But there was a topic that I wanted to discuss that wasn't on you list Mrs. V. So I wanted to adress it. And that is Who can save the hero? Who will be there when he falls, to sweep him up and fix him? Who can save someone who is trying to save so many people? There is a simple answer to this question; you can't save the hero. Just like you cannot save the villian, it's a two sided coin, but they both end the same. On the floor one side up, the other hidden by the ground one side will win. While the other's face is in shame on the floor. And you can't take it back, sure you can do two out of three, but that flip is going to stay that way. One side won. One side lost. Simple, you can't change the outcome, you can predict it. And you can stand over the coin and watch it eagerly, but if you touch the coin it doesn't count. This is the same for the hero; you cannot interfear. It will always be this way and it won't be changing anytime soon. The Villian can join the hero and the hero can join the villian. But after that they still can't be saved. A hero can't be helped and a villian can't be helped. The hero of the story will face this and he'll realize that you can take his eyes and make him blind, but you can't give him the gift of sight back. The hero of the story can't be saved. He doesn't need to be.
